    Default Front box USB

Has anyone use the front box USB on an RT Limited to power a Zumo XT?

Depends on what a "zoom XT" is. When I googled it, it gave me a bunch of results for some kind of shoes.

In that case, no. Either tap into your battery (with a fuse) or install a fuse block. Battery is easiest as long as you always remember to turn off the Zumo. If you don't, it'll run down your battery in no time. Better option is to add a fuse block with switched power. Shut off your bike and your GPS will turn off (or at least it will start to run on the internal battery).

Why do you say no? Just curious. Not enough juice?

Correct. I had an XT on my 2021 RT and tried that using the USB in the glovebox. It wouldn't power on until I hooked it up to regular power.

I powered my Zumo XT off the glove box USB last week and after about half an hour the right side of my dash started blinking and indicated something about a USB problem, can't remember the warning. I unhooked it and everything went back to normal. The dealer told me those two connectors for the glove box are for input only, audio, etc.

When the dealer installs the updated front pulley I'm having them hardwire for my XT. Good video on how to do this out there (inside the right panels) but I don't do electrical wiring or connections.

That's strange....... I have both my TomTom GPS and my GoPro camera powered out of my glove box. And I used a USB splitter also in there which should have weakened the power even more. I've only put about 100 miles on her since, (terrible weather) but have not encountered any problems so far. Also, I thought there was a GPS power supply under the right service panel area that fit the Garmin series GPS's?

******* Looking at the wiring schematic, it shows only 5 volts as power. I’m gonna say no.

OP has a 2013. I thought they only added that dedicated GPS power supply on the 2020+ RT but I could be wrong.

On a 2013 RT. The GPS connections are on the right side near the rear corner of the fuel tank. There is dedicated 12v power there for the GPS mount and also an audio connecter for audio from the GPS mount to the radio.
