    Default Spring updates

Have spent the better part of eight hours disassembling and reassembling my 2018 F3-T. Took the kendas off and replaced with Vredesteins all around. While apart I looked @ the brakes, about half gone, so placed an order with Ron for new brakes, and caliper reducer.

While waiting for the order, which was here in a day and a half thank you for your outstanding service as always Ron. I went to Lowes and got some of the threaded clips to attach to the tabs on the belt guard covers. It was tough enough to remove the two 10mm nuts, I wasn't going to fight with trying to put them back on. This modification made reattaching the belt guards so much easier.

Used silicone spray lube on the rubber drive line shock absorbers under the sprocket on the rear wheel. pumped up the brake pedal before turning on the key, went for a nice ride, seated the new brakes and scrubbed the mould release compound off the new tires.

I found I have a belt tensioner on this. I have a question for the forum, what size roller is used on the BRP tensioner?? Mine is less than 2 inches in diameter. Have the BRP tensioners been upgraded since they were first introduced?? I recall a lot of problems with failures and destruction of the drive belt when they were first introduced. Having purchased this used from I-Motor I was not able to discuss this with the original owner.

I noticed that the catalytic converter impedes the swing arm from dropping much after removal of the lower shock bolt. I was able to work the drive belt off by side ward pressure and rotation of the rear tire. This allows you to remove the rear tire and not have to redo the belt tension, tracking or alignment. Saves the laser alignment if you have had this done previously also.

Now @ 7700 miles I am ready to travel and not have any concerns for neglected maintenance. Oil change @ 9000 miles and will be good to go.

I agree about the blue text, but to answer your question if you have the original brp tensioner you need to buy the roller/bearing kit from Lamonster, the roller is bigger and has better bearings.

The blue is OK, but does it have to be bold too?

Thank you for your answer, from the difference in roller size I most likely have the BRP tensioner. Will put an order into spyder pops for the new roller as he's $11.00 cheaper than Lamount for Lamount's own roller replacement. And as so many complained about my blue print, will leave this black, but bold and larger is easier on my 70+ year old eyes.

It's off topic a little I know, but it is important!

The thing about using Blue, Red, or Green for large blocks of text (as opposed to just highlighting the odd word or two. ) is that there's a significant portion of the World's population who are 'colour blind' to some degree, and as quoted here:

Most colour blind people are able to see things as clearly as other people but they are unable to fully 'see' red, green or blue light.
so if you do use those colours, you are very likely making it MORE DIFFICULT for some (many??) to clearly see your posts, let alone read them! . Sure, bolding the text &/or colour might make it 'stand out' a little more in your eyes, but if your reader happens to be colour blind (even just a little!) in that particular colour (or more!) then bolding big blocks of it doesn't really help much - in fact, if it's big blocks of text & therefore colour that you're bolding (rather than individual words, which increases the contrast!) then it could even make it worse/harder again for them to read/decipher!! And Colour blindness to some degree &/or a reduced ability to see/read clearly is far more prevalent than you might think, especially amongst the 'more mature' readers out there.

All of which means that if want to use an alternative colour to the Forum default, then using any one of those three (3) colours will be the WORST choice of colours you could make!! . That'll be made even worse if whoever your reader is doesn't have a 'white background' on their screen, so 'Changing your default text colour' to any of those 3 is NOT a really great idea, not if you want everyone to be able to read your posts!

If it helps you to see, or even if you just must change your text colours, then you should instead try changing the text size &/or 'bolding' it, as I've done above & in the following: Larger sized text that is Bolded in the Forum default colours will make your posts easier to read for FAR MORE of your potential readers than changing the text's colour to any variation of Blue, Red, or Green! Thank you for thinking of ALL your potential readers!
