At least that way you'll know that you have taken a positive action to reach out & contact him, rather than just HOPING he'll eventually find & read your post/this thread. After all, it's really YOU who wants to contact him, isn't it??
Yes, the best way is to call. He doesn't sit around with his face glued to a screen watching for texts and emails. He's a busy individual, but he faithfully answers his phone, at least every time I call.
