Inspection in NC

I can normally start a conversation with them and they end up not checking anything. Considering my rear tire is getting on the thin side, I am hoping that is the case today. I am going to get a new tire in a couple of months, but too much tread to replace it right now.
I am new to NC (Pinehurst area) and about to take possession of my first Spyder. Can you recommend repair shops and inspection shops near me? Do I have to get it inspected immediately upon getting it (used machine) or am I good the first year?

But then, on the other hand, you'd be in New Jersey. Not a great trade-off.

I had to get my RT 622 trailer inspected. The inspector tried to fail it because the reverse light did not work. I had to take the trailer apart pull the lighting housing to show him there was no reverse lights on the trailer that it is there for looks and no way to even install a bulb.
