2017 Spyder F3 Parking Brake will not release?!
My parking brake will not release. I have disconnected the battery and reconnected but no luck. At least it's in the garage and not on the ride I took today.......can anyone address this mishap?

The only way, I know of, to release the parking brake is to take the brake cable or the actuator lever off the fixturing point near the axle.
Look for a video on YouTube. I carry 2 12mm combo wrenches just for this issue.

Put a rock behind and in front of the rear tire before you loosen that 12mm nut! EXPERIENCE TALKING! Loosen the nut, count how many times you spin it. Take it home ignore the dumb beeping. Once you get home put a rock in front and behind rear wheel, open the brake side panel, get an air hose blow out the wheel, wipe the lever with a thin soft rag and see if it engages. If so tighten nut same count and your good till next time. It will happen again.

Happen to my new 2019 f3s too, disconnected the cable reinstalled and never had a problem with it again

I absolutely love this forum and the ability it affords one to find solutions to problems. My 2018 F3-T had this issue when I picked it up with 15 miles on it. The mech disassembled the actuator and reassembled and it "worked". 1000 miles later, same issue. Gave a Brake Switch error thru the BUDS, but switch and wires checked out. Adjusted the PB cable, solved for now. Seems like too much torque for the motor to release.

Pauly1, I think that is the key, the correct adjustment of slack on the parking brake cable IMO

My 2015 had this problem at about 77,000 miles. It turned out to be a failure of the electronic module that controls the motor for the brake, and the motor that lowers/raises the windshield. Replaced under warranty, including the $50 tow bill. (But I had to pay the $20 cab ride home, 12 miles, then drive my car back the next day, to meet and direct the tow driver.) I knew nothing about pulling cables to release the brake, but the dealer tech did, to drive it of the tow truck. It was slid onto the steel truckbed rear-wheel first... no biggie.
I had to wait several days for the new module to ship to the dealer.
