We survived the T-storm and Tornado warnings. Two weather systems were involved. One passed us going North to the West of us and the other passed us on the East and going North. We had a couple intermittent T-storms with very black and threatening skies. That was the extent. Today is colder and supposed to have showers. Tomorrow, supposed to be 57 and partly cloudy. That's good. Heading to Nixa for 2019 annual service, 2020 initial service and farkleing. Leaving at 7:00 AM tomorrow.

Just about perfect riding weather here in the desert S.W. Rode about 170 miles (for lunch of course) yesterday. Temperature got to the low 70s. Today it will be a bit warmer heading for a high of 82. Very light winds and a few high clouds. Heading out in 1/2 hour for a memorial ride for a fellow rider who left us a week ago. Be safe..... Jim

Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie
Me'n the Child Bride are on the road atm, half-way across the country trying to get thru to visit family (sorta sadly that we're not on the Spyder & not for the 'good' kind of visit that you can readily postpone, either! but sorta thankful we're not on the Spyder too! Read on - ) We've left the gradually fading heat of South Ozzie's 'mild Autumn' behind only to drive into flooding rains & the worst weather events some parts of the Ozzie East Coast have experienced in the last hundred years or so!
Temps aren't too bad - it's not COLD by any stretch of the imagination, but it is really stickily humid and either drizzling rain, about to rain, or absofreakinlutely bucketing down rain; while just about every little creek &/or depression that might conceivably hold water is rapidly flooding or well & truly flooded already!! . We've had to leave the 'most direct' path & re-route numerous times to avoid floods, flooded bridges, trees over the roads, landslides, accidents, and even just massive queues of cars filled with people evacuating from low lying river flood-plains &/or coastal areas, and we still haven't made it to where we need to be!!
Just to make it worse, all this rain/flood water is pouring onto the vast tracts of land that were so severely burnt about a year ago, so there's not really all that much deep-rooted vegetation left to hold onto what little's left of the soil, so the erosion damage is going to be horrific once the rain stops.... Talking to the locals we meet along the way who've already been thru so much and were only just beginning to get back on their feet is really hard, but much harder for them!! . We stopped & spent some time helping recover one bloke who was stuck in a roadside paddock & just about ready to give up; then we just sat in the rain with him for about an hour while he watched most of his property's top-soil & crop wash down-stream & away - in a 'creek' that his family going back 4 generations had never known to even carry water, let alone flood.... Yet when we left, he was already planning their way ahead!
The forecast for the week where we need to be is pretty much all 'Rain; Torrential Rain; Flood Warnings; Hazardous Surf Warnings; Storm Surge Warnings; Strong Winds & Gale Warnings; Hazardous Road Condition Warnings; and temps barely reaching the high teens (°C) with lotsa RAIN!! . But with any luck, we'll finally get thru later on this morning (it's early morning on Monday the 22th here! ) so we'll be visiting with the Child Bride's family for the first time in a few years, what with not being able to get in due to droughts, bushfires, storms, et al; and now there's all these floods - but the floods don't really stand a chance of stopping us.... they haven't met my wife before nor know how determined she can be!

On the news last night they reminded us that you folks are celebrating your first day of fall. And....winter is coming on soon. I like what is going on here much better. Today some some trees with full white blooms, and other trees with lavender colored blooms. The flowers are starting to come up. The buttercups are coming up all over, and saw another field of white flowers today. And....if your Irish....there are Forty Shades of Green for sure.

The weather here in Vermont was sunny, and the temps in the 50's.
But this week the temps are will be in the 60's and possible 70's. Lows in the 40's and 50's.
I think we have turned a corner for the best.
( off topic I'm between the sled season, and the spyder riding season., I am done riding the sled for the season, most of the sled trails will be closed for the season due to warm weather that we are getting. The maple syrup season is in full swing).

Started at 60 degrees with a little bit of sun. Watching out the back door, and looking at the neighbors cow pasture, we noted that one of the cows (Linda calls her Betty Boop), just had a calf. Was not more than an hour old. We watched the calf struggle with those first steps, and then she laid down next to momma, and had some breakfast. They also had a new calf yesterday, which we did not see, and another one is ready to go anytime. Linda gets a real kick out of watching nature play out.
Weather turned cloudy, and the breeze started picking up. We had to get the oil changed on the car so we did not ride today. I did cut the grass for the first time this year. It was about 5 inches high, with some stuff much higher. It's all 3 inches now. Got to drive the John Deere. So, I got to drive some anyway.
