Default Replacing missing right body panel (radiator exhaust)

Either it blew off, or someone helped themselves, but just got back from a ride and noticed the right side radiator exhaust panel is gone on my 2017 RT in Champagne Gold. This is the removable piece that covers the radiator exhaust port I guess on the right side.

Guessing this isn't something I'll ever find pre-painted unless someone is parting out a matching Champagne Gold Spyder. Anyone know a good source to get this without buying both sides as well? Assuming I'l have to have it painted too, and I never could find this stupid paint anywhere.

It's this piece, not my Spyder...

    Thanks!

Thanks I'll have to check into that Duzz thing. I found it online at various places, it's listed as 'Ivory Metallic" in that paint code, and the one picture of the paint kit looks like the Champagne Metallic I was told this color is. So it appears if I order an "Ivory Metallic" RH panel it'll come pre-painted, but without that Can-Am cap piece. JFC, $200 for that little piece of plastic...

Right. The chrome cap piece is another 90 bucks. And there is also a rubber pad, some hardware, and even a piece of insulation if you want to rebuild the whole panel. The parts diagram shows them all and must be ordered individually.

Good God. I'll see how important those pieces are then decide if I want to add them or not I guess. Was hoping maybe there was an aftermarket logo piece, even if I had to replace both, that was cheaper...

Try looking for Dzus or D-Zus rather than Duzz

If you click on my username to the left & then 'View Forum Posts', you'll find more than just a couple of my posts refer to what I've done in the various threads asking about this 'fix' - and some of those posts even have pics!

Thanks Peter! I'm sure that'll be helpful when the new pieces get here. I am definitely going to do something to prevent this from happening again.

From pg. 49 of your operator's guide the part you are looking for is the right hand Side Panel for which BRP does not list a PN for one in Champagne Gold. Matter of fact BRP does not list any panels in your color. If you send an email to BRPCare at brp.care@brp.com with your VIN they should be able to tell you the paint color number and you can have a white panel painted to match.

Sorry to hear you lost your panel! I had a 2010 RT in Orbit Blue and lost the left side, the one you remove to check oil on the 998 engine!$300.00 to replaced all parts needed! Like stated in previous posts, check into Dzus fasteners from Kurvy Girl! Check out some of the posts, many have pictures and directions. I followed one of the posts and installed on both of these panels! Problem solved!

I think this may be what you are looking for - BRP part # 705010017. The BRP parts catalog lists it as Ivory, not Champagne, but there are no Ivory paint colors for 2017 RT.

If I understand this correctly, 2017 and 2018 were the only two years for the champagne color and that is the only two years that the Ivory shows up in the parts listing?

No, it's not a limited so that Can-Am piece is more of a pewter color I'd say vs chrome. I am pretty sure that Ivory color is also the Champagne Gold color from what I've found. At least that's what I ordered

Once I get that I'll see about the Can-Am cover piece and how to secure these things to the bike so I don't have to do this again.

    Thanks!

So I think I want to do the Dzus fasteners to help hold these $300 panels on. For those who have done this already, what size did you use? Don't want to get the wrong length as they aren't exactly cheap.

    Thanks!

Check in my earlier posts via a search as mentioned in post # 7 above, but I'm pretty sure they are 18mm long

Here in Oz they certainly aren't expensive, you can get them in a pack of 4 for less than $10!!

The Dzus fasteners are one way to go. Of course they change the look of the Spyder a little bit. That could be good as you could wear the Dzus as a proud farkle.
You might also consider adding velcro on the inside face of the panel with matching velcro mounted on the frame of the bike.
I found that quite adequate after losing TWO panels on separate occassions.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

With easy access to better 1/4 turn fasteners, I used a cleaner looking setup on ours.

If you want inexpensive and easy, go with a plastic push pin.

Thanks, I'll look at 1/4 turn fasteners as well, was mostly unsure of the right length for them. The Velcro idea sounds good too
