That is truly out of this world. And to add to this feat, they will be flying a drone....from earth.
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.
It most certainly is an amazing scientific accomplishment. Regarding flying the drone, since it takes approximately 11 min for a radio signal to travel from Earth to Mars NASA will probably have to send the entire flight program beforehand and then simply watch to see completely autonomous flight. For all we know now it probably has already been transmitted or it may have been programmed in before launch seven months ago.
Artillery lends dignity to what would
otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

I wonder how well the Martian's GPS satellite network will work with an Earth based GPS routing app???????
Thank God the conspiracy theorists got it wrong and the Martians didn't shoot it down before it landed!!!!!!

Just sayin'
Well, what if 100K years goes bye, and some space faring civilization comes across a long lifeless planet. But finds our machines, dead but still in orbit and sitting on two other worlds. Certainly they would be far more advanced, but they would likely understand and appreciate the achievement having gone through it themselfs.

All the computers that have taken over. But then one of them will say that it couldn't have been done without his great, great, great grandmotherboard.
