cueman....what measurement is 2-1/2 bars. My bike has stock, adjustable shocks and I'm about to dial them up a bit. You input would be appreciated.

Hi RICZ, mine is a Ryker Rally that has different suspension than the others, but if I had to guess I’d say about half an inch stiffer. Please remember that it corners better but rides stiffer, not as smooth in general. Maybe set yours a bit firmer and dial it in a little at a time. Good Luck, cueman

Good advice. I did some serious twisty riding today, and paying attention to ride and lean, I don't think I can stand too much shock tightening. I mainly want to raise the front end. It thinks it's a snow plow, it's that close to the road. And I'm no heavy weight at 150 pounds + 10 pounds or so for gear.

There is a company called Elka Suspension that some people have switched to and I believe they set them up for your specific needs. May be worth a call to the experts. cueman
The price of admission is too high for this cheap bastard. If I can get what I want by winding up the stock shocks, I'm hunderd$ ahead.

Well driving up on friend ramps worked great! Couple minutes to slide the old one out and the Baja Ron's in, then back on my blocks to hook it up and reinstall the panels. Time for a test ride.

Good job! When you take that test ride, you won't believe you are on the same bike.

All I can say is wow! By the way, I did not remove the belly plastic pans. I was able to remove the two bolts that go through the blocks that go around the sway bar. I used a 10mm wobble end ratchet end wrench, and it was able to reach the frame to get on the bolt to remove it. I reinstalled the bolt the other way around with the nut forward, which was easier going back together. So other than a few scratches on my arms and hands I though it went will. I have turned wrenches on cars and boats for most of my life.

So we are looking at rain off and on for the next week or so. Glad I got a bit of a test ride in today. When weather improves I will try air different air pressure in the front tires, as I felt a bit of oversteer on the loop I did in upper Gold Canyon this morning. Or I just have to get use to the go cart corning handling provide by the Formosa tires and Baja Ron's sway bar. It is a very different trike now and in my opinion should have come OEM with this better handling. At any rate I think I am going to LIKE it!

That's a very ingenious way to get your Spyder's front end off the ground.
Yep a minute or two to drive up, set the parking brake, get off and see I need to go a little further up the ramps, get back on and hold the foot brake, release the parking brake, and ease up a little more and slide out the old and new one in, get back on and let it roll back down the ramps. Friend was not here much more than 10 minutes, which included placing the ramps and storing them again. Worked great!!!!!

That's basically how blacklightning and I swapped the sway bar on my RT. He drove a bike trailer up on ramps then put loading ramps on the back of the bike trailer. Ran my bike up on those ramps, tied it down (just to be safe) then swapped out the bar. Did it all on the ramps. Worked like a charm!

No doubt, you are gonna like it! And yes, get used to the go cart handling. I have the Federals up front, the original Kenda in the back and Ron's sway bar. I ride quite aggressively and have yet to feel any squirrel-y-ness.

What inflation are you running front and back? I have same tires front and back.

I have 24# in the rear and 16# presently in the fronts. I did have the fronts at 18#, but thought I'd try 16#. I must have a numb butt, coz I don't sense any difference in handling, as many do with a 2#change.

I am way past being a senior - I am now an artifact.
Humorous. I haven't quite reached that stage but I'm inexorably approaching it. We have a friend who turned 100 several years ago and when asked what it meant he said, "I've stopped being a person and have become an attraction." I'll not likely have to worry about that.
OK award time for best Spyder aftermarket product award. I just did a run over Usery Pass and back with it's sweeping curves some tighter than others. I went over to the Salt River to try those tighter corners and raise and falls of the road. All I can say the Spyder should have been built both better tires like the Federals and a sway bar like Baja Ron's.
So the award goes to Baja Ron's sway bar:
