    Default F4 28", Xscreen addon, 7jurock 27" or Saeng Gen-4 edging

I know that has been beat to death, however can we do it again.

F4 28"(pricey), Xscreen addon(pricey for what you get), 7jurock 27"(fair price) or Saeng Gen-4 edging

2018 Spyder RT limited. Mostly two up riding, October to first of May in East Valley of Phoenix.

So my 25" stock windshield and my 6'3" height(lost an inch as I aged out) with a long torso is causing a lot of helmet buffeting. Both 3/4 helmets which we prefer. Also what about flip or no flip?

    Thanks Chris

Get what you want and can afford. Remember, these are expensive machines and the extras you do can be expensive. The only limitation is your pocketbook. Act accordingly.

I am leaning towards a taller windshield. The 7jurock is 2" taller and 4" wider while the F4 is 3" taller and 5" wider for almost twice the price. Chris

7Jurock has been good to me. I have ordered several windshields from them over the years. My last order was a custom windshield they made to my specifications. They were very intent to make exactly what I wanted and they did it. I wanted one that was taller and wider than the stock one that fit within the support brackets. There was a lot of phone and email communication to accomplish it and in the end, they charged me no more than a stock w/s would cost - $160 shipped. DEFINITELY GET THE FLIP! It makes the w/s act like it's a lot taller than it is. Here's a photo of the result.....notice that it utilizes the stock supports.

i have 7 jurock with flip. i can see over it at lowest position. raise it up for rain and cold air. you will have to get used to distortion looking thru it, not a big hinderance

I had the 7 Jurock 27" on my RT. Could not handle the distortion as I was looking thru it. Sent it back and got the 25" flip. It was perfect. I could see over it and the flip pushed the wind over my head. Good company. They exchanged it even thou I used it. I now have the F4 on my F3L. Nothing better out there. I look thru it and the clarity is outstanding.

What ever shield you get ------- get one that is vented. An open vent will fill the bubble of calm air and push the turbulence up and back.

I've had both 7Jurock and F4 windscreens. The 7Jurock on my '18 RT worked VERY well and as noted, was reasonably inexpensive. It was stock height, wider, with a recurve. Unfortunately, I felt I needed to swap it out in the middle of summer weather for the stock windscreen. When I got my '21 RT, I knew I wanted a larger windscreen but also wanted a vent so I bought one of F4s "blemished" windscreens. About $100 cheaper and I can't find the blemish anywhere. This one is stock height, wider with a vent. This is also tinted which 7 Jurock doesn't offer and doesn't have a flip which F4 doesn't offer. I just got it w/in the last couple of months so I haven't had the opportunity to use it in summer yet but I can tell a difference when the vent's open. Worst case scenario, I swap back to the stock windscreen in summer although I doubt I need to. If I find another F4 windscreen the same as mine but stock width, I'd probably pick it up.

I used Saeng edging on a windshield many years ago. Can't say that it made much, if any difference, but it was likely an earlier version. Not cheap either..

I used it once long ago on a BMW and it did work for me. If you need a windshield 3 or 4" taller/wider, the Saeng won't do it.

Well yesterday I was studying windshield height and where the buffeting is coming from on my helmet, and now am thinking it is from around the sides of the windshield. With the OEM windshield all the way up I am look though it about 2" down from the top. I have a sheet of thinner Lexan and may cut a couple wing extension to tape on and see if that solves my major issues before just ordering a wider 25" windshield. Chris

As I previously mentioned, both my 7Jurock and F4 windscreens are the wider ones. They cut down a lot on the wind you feel. Not sure how good that is in the middle of summer but makes a world of difference in cooler/colder weather. I'm planning a Christmas day ride and it's not supposed to get above freezing. Not sure I'd want to go very far withOUT a wider windscreen. Never had much buffeting on the RTs but with the wider windscreens, I have none.

I have seen extended side wings they use on Golwings. There about 12" long and 2" wide. They clamp onto the windshield. I believe there is no drilling.

Well on the 26th I placed an order with 7 jurock. Bank card was charged and got a confirmation email. Middle of last week I send an inquiry via their web page with no response. I just called and got a voice mail system and no one live to talk to. I know this is the holiday season, but I expected some sort of a reply. Chris

I have always had good results and fast responses from 7Jurock, so wondering what's up with them, I went to their web site and got this...... https://www.7jurock.com/password
I'm guessing that someone there might have contracted Covid, hence the shut down. I bought my last w/s from them during this pandemic and it was a custom made to my specs. We had a lot of back and forth on the phone. Realizing these are "interesting times" weird things are going to happen - be patient, I know first hand these are good people. They are in California and you know how crazy things can get there.
If there is an urgency to get a w/s, you can dispute the credit card charge and order elsewhere.

If I might make a suggestion, I'll tell you what Bajaron told me....do one at a time and put some miles on so you will know what each does for you. He was right. I did the car tires up front first and boy howdy, was that a big improvement over the Kendas. After another 1K miles, I installed the sway bar and boy howdy, was that a big improvement. It's nice knowing what each did for the bike, so I could tell others.

Thanks! I have looked around the park for someone that has a slotted loading ramp on their side by side trailer to drive the front on to fish out the out sway bar and slide the new one in, then back on my blocks to finish up the install.

Yesterday I was finally able to talk to someone at 7 jurock, by pushing zero while listing to their recorded message. They have had a battle with Covid-19. The office lady, and many out on the floor got it. So they closed down for two weeks. They are going to try to get my WS out this week. It was scheduled for Friday and she(lady filing in at answer the phones) said she would try to have them do it earlier if possible. She said their area in California is really getting hammered by the virus. As a side note we had our first death from it last week in are 800+ site RV Resort here in Arizona. Guy got it while in hospital for pneumonia and had other underlying medical issues.

OK, I am armed to do belt align or rear tire replacement. My 36mm end wrench was installed by Amazon.

It help to have two 36mm wrenches I have found. I got mine at a used tool store for $8 each. Yeah, I'm cheap. But they work as well as new ones do.
