Default Classic TT onboard - Danny Webb (Team Classic Suzuki - RG500)

If I were 45 years younger and was much braver than I am now, I might try this. I love watching these guys! I have never seen a video from their prospective before.
    Get ready! Set!

It's really worth going to the Island at least once. I've been fortunate enough to have visited six times over the years since 1970 and 1971 when we campaigned a 350 Kawasaki in the Manx Grand Prix. I've prefer to avoid the TT because it's much too crowded for my tastes, it's unsafe to ride the course when the roads are open because of the reckless wanna-be racers, and the TT races are much bettered appreciated by watching the very well-done video productions. Not to mention that it's more costly to visit the Island during the TT festivities.

The Island itself is much more than the TT - the Manx Grand Prix, Round Island Power Boat Races, stages of the European rally series, and other motorsport stuff. Unfortunately, over the years several of the landmark sites to visit have gone (the old Manx Motorcycle Museum on Snaefel Mountain, and the Manx Cattery come to mind), but there's still much to see and enjoy. And since the establishment of the Manx Heritage Foundation, many of the historic sites have been gathered into their auspices and have been improved dramatically. Finally, it's one of the few places on earth where you can stand at the top of a small mountain - Snaefel, by name - and see six kingdoms: England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Man, and Heaven.

I've ancestors who come from the Island and I was both surprised and pleased that I didn't have to pronounce my last name once - it's a common Scottish-Manx name as it happens. Perhaps that's one of the reasons I keep going back.

Living in the UK, I have been to the Manx GP a few times myself as a spectator only, on my G.W.1800. One of my best memories of riding there on a normal open road day, don't forget we drive on the left, was taking Kate's Cottage, a downhill left hander much too fast. As the road was clear I let the bike drift to the right to open it up when a police car ( hadn't looked in my mirrors for a while ) passed me on my left waving his hand in a slow down motion then kept on driving. Only in the IOM.
