You have to remember, here in the Phoenix East Valley you will find left lane hogs that drive at 40mph and refuse to change lanes and some loonies that get frustrated and go flying around them, There are of curves on the roads ...

Besides once you get on the highway 80 mph is center lanes avg speed.

As winter snowbirds we try to bring the greater Phoenix area speeds down to a reasonable speed each winter to no avail! Speeding in the area has become a right of passage. We have seen in the last 13 years the speed cams go away on the freeway and the little mobile Ford Escorts with speed cams go away. The other day I did see a pack of Dodge unmarked hot rods enforcing speeding in the Mesa area of the 60, and between Mountain View and Gold Canyon they sometimes sit between the East and West bound lanes.

I have come off the 17 to the 101 East and had to run 80 MPH with the traffic flow, with the many Tesla's in the area leading the pack(which is a Sunday drive for our 2015 RAM diesel with 3.42 gears out back). One has to think the Phoenix market for Tesla's is one of their largest.

Speed on, up to 5 MPH over is a given. Above that is anyone's guess of when you might be ticketed. When you are just going with the flow they are not going to stop everyone!
