Default My F4 took one for the team

    it all happened pretty fast.
i got hit with a mud ball from no idea where.
hit the shield at about shoulder height and glanced off to the my right. probably would have hurt if i had the OEM T shield on.
broke the shield from the mounting bracket but otherwise stayed intact, crazing around point of impact.

Had one of those get me last week, but it got my elbow, and went up and bounced of my helmet. Scared the crap out of me, as all i saw was a black blob heading at me at the last minute.

Those windshields are a tad spendy, but still cheaper than a trip to the hospital. That's why I went with one.

I have seen trucks with dual wheels enter a highway and toss off a rock that was wedged between the tires as they were picking up speed. Could be that was the culprit?
Years ago, on a 4 lane freeway, I was overtaking another motorcycle and as I was beside him, a seagull smacked his windshield dead on. Fortunately, he was wearing a full face helmet and escaped injury. Another bullet I ducked in this long life of mine.

I had a bird strike last week just North of Saguaro Lake on the Bush Highway at 50 MPH. Saw two birds at the last fraction of a second, one hit the Frump hood, and I saw it got off to the left. Buddy behind me said feathers we flying and it arched up and landed on the other side on the highway. I could not find any damage to the trike, lucky I guess.

Wow! Whatever that was, sure would have been bad if it hit you instead of the windshield!
    Glad you are OK.

F4 should advertise how their windshields are not only nice looking but a safety item . Had he not had an F4 windshield the circumstances would have been different .

Glad all is ok. We make your shields out of High Optics polycarbonate and then bake our proprietary coatings in to make them extremely tough. Just glad you had it on. Give me a call when you get time at 941-347-7496

Before I purchased my F4 windshield, I did my research. F4's windshields are made from optical grade polycarbonate which prevents road distortion when viewed through the windshield. It's much stronger then extruded acrylic and provides 250 times the impact resistance of standard glass.

Yes, they cost more then other windshields, but you have to ask what are you getting for those extra bucks.

Two years ago, when ryding through the Sand Hills in Nebraska, out of somewhere, wind, a semi truck going in the opposite direction and some object came together to severely crack my F4. It didn’t break free, but the crack lengthened noticeably as I rode on west. I called, explained the situation I was in and a replacement shield was waiting for me at the FedEx facility in Cody two days after my call. F4 = quality & customer service = priceless!!

I also have the F4 windshield on my 2020 Spyder RT, I was searching for more wind protection when I found the F4. My wife ordered it, I noticed when we were mounting it, it had a slight scratch on it, she called and spoke to Chris from Slingmods, (who she bought it from) he said check and get back to you. Don from F4 called her later ( I couldn’t believe what he said and I quote) sorry send it back and I’ll replace it, when you GET IT send the other one back. Who else would do that! That’s good customer relations, anytime I need or want something they’re my #1 choice. Thanks again Don from F4 and Chris at Slingmodes.

I have an F4 also, but have the hockey stick looking side supports. I see in your above pic that you didn't have those on yours ?
