I forgot how nice
I recently have been returning my 2014 to stock configuration, removing all the parts that will go on my new 2021 Sea to Sky spyder in january. I returned the exhaust and shocks back to stock today and took it for a ride. I forgot how nice it rides in stock form! It was a great quiet ride. I could hear the radio easily. It still handled very well(still has a bajaron swaybar). I was going to sell it. But now I think I will keep it for my brother to ride when he is here. It has 35000 miles and has never ever given me any trouble. When you get a good spyder, you hang on to it. I think sometimes when we think we are making changes to improve the spyder, we are only wasting our money.

Mine is less than 700 miles from 70K and I have absolutely no intention of upgrading. Each day is a new adventure.

Mine rolled up 90K on Halloween, and the warranty expired in July. I thought I never wanted to be without warranty, and would trade up... but shoot, I decided to just let all that trade-up cost, plus new extended warranty cost, go toward paying for any problems that come up on this one. It's mighty reliable yet, so why blow the coin? And my new front tires aren't even showing any wear yet, with the rear tire good for another 10-15K at least!

Did you have any warranty repairs in those 5 years?
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.

Mercy, Yes! Nearly $2200 worth on 5 claims. The $869 RPM1 extended warranty paid back more than double its cost.
Oh, there's one more that I couldn't find in my records: the D.E.S.S. unit was replaced by warranty... I have no idea how much that cost. But I was without my ryde for 8 days, waiting for the replacement! Ticked me off, too, because the dealer caused it: the porter power-washed it after a full-service oil-change without pulling the key first. When I paid the bill, and mounted up to leave, NOTHING! She was DEAD!

These are right at 20K miles now, so they gotta be showing some wear! I don't have a tread gauge so I did the best I could with a micrometer caliper depth gauge, and came up with just under 9/32. They were 10/32 new, so the implied math yields a 120K service life on a Spyder RT (with retirement at 4/32). The light vehicle weight hardly loads these great tires!
I run them at 15-17psi. I do have to air them up every couple months.
