Ryker 900 storage suggestions without Max Mount
I would like to know what are my options for storage for my Ryker, can not afford the Max Mount.
Thank you for your replies.

I take it you mean 'Options for storage ON my Ryker' & not 'storage FOR my Ryker?!
A member here, I think it was SportsterDoc, fitted a couple of straps large enough to secure a little bag & folded jacket directly onto the top of his rear fender - not really all that big or capable of holding much, but hey, without a Max Mount, there's simply not too many places you can secure anything!?! You could search his posts in this Ryker section, if it wasn't him, then he's certainly posted in the applicable thread!
Other options - Saddle bags you can throw over the seat & then sit on maybe?? Or possibly a 'Tank-Bag' strapped on top of the gas filler lid or maybe on top of the 'frunk'... however tiny they'd hafta be to fit on a Ryker!
There again, maybe you could do what most motorcyclists do, & just throw a back-pack of some sort over your shoulders & make do with that?!? Still, if you really want to carry much more than that, then maybe it's time to start saving for that Max Mount?!

Good memory, Peter!
Threewheel: How much weight do you need to carry?
I carried up to 8 pounds long distances on the fender, when I carried fuel on the Extraterrestrial Highway.
Fender straps allowed jacket storage and a small bag.

You'll really need the Max Mount to carry anything substantial. I'd save up for it, then you can mount just about anything back there from a bag to a top case. With no frame back there, there's just not much in options. Some people on sport bikes or dual sports wear a backpack when they need to carry items.

You can use Max Mount to carry anything substantial, the second available option is to use saddlebags or trunk bags.

Saddlebags will need support brackets to keep them in place, and from swinging in underneath. I tried the saddlebags idea without the support brackets and it wouldnt work. I eventually made a support to go across & down the Linq base thats on the Max Mount. If you can attach some type of support underneath each side of the seat, it might work, just depends on how large the bags are.

Obviously, I could not carry near as much as Rick, but my fender bag sufficed for a 6 day trip in mild weather...although I did have the benefit of washing clothes at my daughter's about 1/3 into the trip.
These photos are of bag over jacket without make-shift rain/dust cover and of bag without jacket (I was wearing it) with make-shift (shipping bag) rain cover.

Strapworks, on-line
Some hardware stores have them, but I wanted black oxide

Ordered straps from them, also.
36 inches with double adjust buckles
If you do not have other lashing straps, suggest also ordering 48" and/or 60", such as hauling boxes to post office.
