Can’t get 2020 oil dip stick to release
Both mine and friend down the road with 2020 RT-L can’t get them to unscrew. Finally today (friend is scared to do this) I got a pair of Channel Locks on the cap and got it out. Yes we are pushing down before twisting even today at a breakfast meet 3 Spyder owners tried. Question is are others experiencing this and if so what might be the solution?

The tolerance on these plastic parts has been tight it seems even on the wifes 16 model F3T - I needed pliers to remove the first time.
A little film of oil or grease on the threads or cap and after a few times it was not an issue, but the dry plastic threads seemed to "Stick".
07 Shadows, Aero, Spirit gone but not forgotten

+1 what AeroPilot said. Grip with pliers and turn counter-clockwise.

I don't think it SCREWS on ( or off ) .... it's not threaded, it had nubs that must slide under the internal lip.( like a radiator cap ) .... you could file them down just a Tad and it would make it easier to turn ..... good luck ... Mike

As Mike says, there are no threads per se on the dipstick tube or cap, just two lugs on the tube and interlocking ones in the cap. What you probably are feeling is the brand new rubber gasket inside the cap that is causing the pressure once the lugs interlock.
Artillery lends dignity to what would
otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

The dipstick on me '18 was pretty easy to loosen. The one on my '21 is very difficult. I think it's as Jay said that the new rubber O ring is tight and needs to be lubed a bit. Next time you check your oil level, wipe a bit of the oil on the O ring just like you'd do on an oil filter gasket.

My 2012's dip stick comes out hard also, and the first unthreading the O-ring will roll down the threads as I take it out, then I have to roll it back, wipe and reinstall for the level check!! I think some of the issue's that I may be tightening it to hard by hand ageist the O-ring, and only having oil on it, it may be gluing it self on there because of the heat! Maybe a little white grease my help!

It's an entirely different system on the 1330 ACE engine and should loosen up over time.

Since I am the OP I guess I choose the wrong termalogy I know it doesn’t screw but was just trying to bring attention to this issue. And yes yesterday after getting it removed (note I didn’t say unscrewed) I did coat the inside cap of the dipstick with some motor oil. Poor engineering I have owned over 50 motorcycles and maybe that many cars/trucks I never ever had a dipstick I needed pliers or a special darn wrench to remove it. Don’t get me wrong I really, really enjoy my Spyder but if we as a group of owners tastefully state issues here maybe the mothership might hopefully take note.

Try a silicone grease or lube.
