    Default Tire pressure

Just replaced my rear tire with a General Altimax. My rides are mixed with single and double up rides. What tire pressure has worked best for others with this tire.

First my comments are for ANY Auto tire on Any Spyder. Over the years I and Peter Aawen have narrowed the REAR psi to an average of 18 lbs. .... If the rider is 175lbs. and you Add another 200/ 250lbs..... I would Only add ONE lb. .... will that small an amount make a difference - Yes, but you won't be able to tell the difference .... to me it's not worth the trouble because the result will be very, very minor..... good luck .... I run my Altimax w/- 21 lb, weigh 185 and most always ride solo. Were my wife to ride I would stay with 21 as she's a lightweight.

..... try 18psi, that tire is fine at the lower PSI, and it could feel a bit more comfortable to boot ..... Mike

I ran that tire on my 2014 RTL. I aired up all 3 tires to 18#s. I know I could have run less pressure in the fronts but 18 worked for me and I had only one number to remember for all the tires..... Jim

That's 18 cold. At highway speeds the PSI can easily increase 4 PSI (or more) at 90/100 degrees.

Another vote for 18 all the way around. Federals on front and Altimax on rear. Two up 99% of the time. Works for me.

Yes I know all about the pressure change thing ( so does Peter Aawen ) that's why we recommend 18 PSI .... COLD ..... Mike

True, but some don't. Sorry to ruffle your feathers.
