Looking for a Spyder key cover with a hole?! Any ideas?
Good morning,
Looking for a key cover with a hole. I see the one from valueaccessories and LaMonster, but are there any other choices or ideas?
Looking for a red one - or two - possibly.
Thanks

If you go to Amazon and type in Red Can AM Spyder Key Cover it will show you several items. Look for the one by Crazy MetalMan, it shows up in red. My wife and I each have that style for each of our F3's. They work great

Just poke the hole and put the key you have on a ring.

And if you poke the chip in the key it will only cost you about $80 for a new key!

You may find one on Ebay!!

Key rings just mess up the area around the ignition. I've never used a key ring, and only lost one key. And that was when I took it out of the ignition and
dropped it down into the engine area, and was never seen again.

I just looked at the Crazy Metalman holder on Amazon, and it seems it does not fit a 2020 RTL key.
FYI

the place where you poke the hole through the rubber is a long way from the chip. The hole is already in the key frame, just covered by rubber. Have done many of these for customers and not replaced a single key.

Why tKe the chance? Motorcycledave is a sponsor on this site, and has exactly what you need. Sure you can drill a hole, but if you screw up, That key is toast. Why take a chance?

OK, thank you for that info! I really liked the look of this cover, but was concerned it wouldn't fit my 2020 RTL. Now I may give it a try.

You can't open the frunk with the key because it wont press deep enough (cover hits) and you have to superglue the halves together.
I drilled key like recommended in LaMonster video. Works fine.

I am sorry you had that problem but you are alone, I have been using them for years with no problems
you must have installed them wrong or if not, a nail file could remove a small amount of the plastic so the key
can go into the lock deeper. Super glue is a good idea as well. I will be happy to make a video and post it or send it to you
so you can see that they do indeed work very well and are not costly.
Dave
