Default 2013 ST SE won’t shift after oil change.

Brand new Spyder owner. Did an oil change and now it won’t shift. Only thing that happened was floor board on brake side dropped down when I jacked it up but reset it. Oil is just over half full at temp. Any resets I should know about or any ideas as to why ?

    Thank you in advance.

    Did you change both filters?

Did you put the trans filter in backwards? If you did, there will be no oil flow to the hydraulic shifting mechanism, hence, no shifting.

Will check later, thought I got it right. FYI my used Spyder has one of your swing arm bars on it .

    Thanks

So I removed oil filter cover and filter was installed right way. I removed and reseated it put cover on loosely and started engine. Had oil flow. BTW when I first removed the cover bone dry to check filter orientation. Only thing I can figure is filter rubber got pinched or it had some type of air lock. Using factory BRP oil. Shifted into gear after I let run for a few minutes to fill up and pressurize. So should be good to go. Just need my registration from the insurance agent. This is a big jump for me as I have been riding Harleys all my life. Looking forward to a new adventure !

Thanks for the response Ron sent me in the right direction.

    Thanks

That is very strange. I've not heard of this problem before, other than the rare, 'Filter in backwards' situation. Something was definitely up with this service. Glad you got it worked out.
