check engine light
every once in a while the check engine light comes on at start if i shut bike off and restart it goes away ...anyone???

Mine started that and I thought it was related to temperature because it would only come on with outside temps 90 degrees or higher. Once cooled down it would go away. My dealer pulled up the errors and it was caused by the GPS. My spyder is a SM5 so no problems but if it was a SE5 the computer would not respond because it would not know what gear it was in. Have your dealer check the error codes.

hope this helps
Went along with the check engine light-----I checked the fluids----all OK
Check engine light comes on at start-up---shutter down re-start check engine light stays off------for awhile.
Dealer checked oil sending unit-----B.O. replaced it and all is well.

HID foglights? If so turn them off before start-up see if that helps.

This can have a variety of causes. Having the dealer hook up BUDS to get the historical error codes can help pin it down.

Mine was a faulty oil pressure sensor...

The same thing happens to me about a mile or 2 down the road. Mine is the O2 sensor. There is something going on with it. When it warms up and the computer tries to go closed loop it can't because the O2 sensor voltage is out of tolerance. So it throws a code and goes to default programming but it doesn't really run much different. It just gets a little worse mileage.
There is a way to read to the codes on your gage cluster. Since it goes away when you shut it off you would need to do it while still running. The procedure says to do it without the engine running but it works either way. I found the procedure here. Sorry I don't have the link but a search should bring it up.
Or just take it in to your dealer.
