    Default My Cheap risers

Not wanting too much of a height increase + wanting them cheap, I went this route. I did get the idea from Lamonster with their Billy Club bar install. I ordered up (4) 1" spacers from SpyderExtras, as they use these with their USB/12V powerport. I then bought some longer SS bolts from my local Fastenal store. Normal length would be 70mm, but having a SpyderExtras power port, I needed a pair of 90mm bolts. A couple drops of super glue on each spacer, along with lining them up with a bolt, keeps them in place for install. You lose the safety pin for the bars, but tightening them up securely is a non issue. They work nicely for less than $20..

That's a good and clever job. I love to do these cheap and easy DIY work-arounds. Make it personal.
BTW, those spacers can be had at Fastenal and/or Ace Hardware.
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.

Not too much to see really. The lower bar clamp sits a bit above the handle bar/steering plate. Having a USB/12v power adapter installed on my clamp, I can't rotate the bars forward as much if it wasn't installed. Still a bit of a nice improvement.

Could you tell us about the hand guards? Do they interfere with the mirrors or windscreen?
    Thanks

I currently use these .. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-7-8-Un...4AAOSw4xRfKCns but other cheap options are available.

I just bought (2) longer bar end bolts and put a rubber washer in between the hand guard and bar end cap. Yes, they will interfere with the stock mirrors. I spent $12 on some bar end mirrors that give a much better view to the rear. A .25 cent plastic hole plug fits perfect in the mirror mount.

Is the rubber plug for the hole where the mirrors were an OEM part from BRP?

I'm a new guy Troop and have a ways to go getting some knowledge about Spyders. In this post are you describing a modification to provide more ground clearance on the front end? When I look at my new F3 (first Spyder) I see there's very little clearance between the bike n the road (5"?).
