Personally i find the folding passenger backrest price excessive at $300 (why is it the same price as the passenger seat that comes with extra brackets as well as the folding foot rests) and the short rail at $210 is needlessly expensive too. I found this Passenger backrest for the ryker at a retailer that shall not be mentioned for $190. Does anyone have an experience with it or does anyone have any other recommendations?
So has anyone tried the backrest in the original post?
I have that backrest and since I never use it, I got it for the wife who is somewhat large around the middle and she found it to be too curved and the ends poke into her sides a bit.
It is, by the way, a Can Am factory backrest IIRC. I got it at the dealer.
Reviving this 7 month old thread to see what others have to say about these backrest options...
I am considering either the Folding Passenger Backrest from Can-Am... or the slightly cheaper option from SlingMods that does not fold...
Although, I am open to other options, especially if someone knows where to get something like that one mentioned in the first reply above... I like that it attaches to the seat so you can quickly take the seat and backrest off together..
OP here. I ended up getting the can am folding one second hand. Its pretty nice overall. I saw a few used like in the original pic that did not age well.
Question about that folding one, if you don't mind... Does it come off easily along with the seat or is it attached separately? I'd like to be able to quickly switch between a passenger seat and a top bag...
Folding backrest bolts directly to the passenger seat itself, so it slides on and off with just the button inside the seat cushion. You'll be able to swap between seat and bag easily...
Like echo said comes off easily with the seat.. no tools needed. Pretty awesome set up. The wife says its pretty comfortable too. Maybe not all day comfort but for an hour out and about she is fine.
