2016 F3T mirrors
so running down the highway and hit a large bump and the back plastic covers flew off.. I stopped, got them and slapped them back on. Common issue? Will need to get new ones because my are scratched up

Yep! All years. Even 2020. You can bend the clips so there tighter but you need to tape them on with something like Gorilla tape. Tape underneath the mirror over the seam. You would think after 6 years with this problem BRP would use screws to attach the cover. I guess they can't really think outside the box.

We use clear Gorilla tape on the underside. You don’t see it, but it holds fine. Maybe someday, they will address it. They typically need Wedgies, to eliminate the shake. We have done 500 or so. No complaints. Joe

in 40 000Km, it happened also to me once a few weeks ago.
I used pliers to have the black metal clip that retains it a little bit more tight and also managed to have the mirror stiffer. I find out that if the mirror is very tight on the Spyder, the cover will have less chance to fell off.
To have the mirror more tight, there's some trick that you can use but one of the best is probably the "wedgie" that you can find around here in the forum:
