Default Ryker Cerakote ceramic coating on stock muffler

I decided to try a ceramic coating on the stock muffler. It looks great and tomorrow I test for heat reduction (if any).

Great idea, looks good. Seeing that you're located in Texas I hope it works (and holds up) for you. Not that it matters, but do you know how much weight was added?

Cerakote is VERY thin and almost no weight added. Stock muffler is 25 lbs and there was no discernible change.

From reading posts on this forum for the past 9 + years, I can't remember reading of any Spyder muffler CASE either rusting or corroding out ..... I have heard of the HINDLE's having issues with the Rivets but that's all..... I looked at the " cerakote " site and they had a pic of where there was a heat issue, ( that should be lessened with their product, according to them ) ..... a simple shield would do the same thing ( at a lot less cost )...... good luck .... The stock one was already starting to brown and discolor and just looked like a mess. It wasn't an anti-corrosion preventative as much as a hopeful reduction of heat that hits your left foot/ankle and less heat rising up from directly under the seat where it lives.

Interesting, I feel most of the heat on my right ankle. I wonder how much heat on the left side comes from the forward/reverse transmission.
