Who knows? Other than being terminally stupid, why would one consider himself smarter than the guys who designed the engine with two O-rings on the plug and leave them off when reinstalling the plug?

Pardon my bluntness in my previous comment. The 1330 ACE engine has a dry sump lubrication system with multiple pumps continually working to lubricate the engine and return oil to the tank. Once the engine is turned off some oil in the tank drains back into the crankcase. When the engine is started scavenge pumps pump this oil from the crankcase back into the oil tank. It is possible that the O-rings on the plug are there to prevent oil from draining into the crank case while the engine is running, I don't know; it's just a WAG as to what the O-rings might do.

The question was because I had the dealer Chang the plug to the gold one at the 3500 service , and you never know.

Did the dealership replace the OEM plug with a simple Gold Plug with nothing more than a metal sealing gasket or did it use a Gold Plug that was in essence a hex head version of the OEM plug with the grooves for and O-rings installed on the plug?

When the 1330 engine first came out in early 2015 Gold Plug advertised a replacement plug for the crankcase plug that was in fact nothing more than an M14X1.5 hex head plug. I pointed this out to the company they acknowledged they advertised the wrong plug and were in the process of manufacturing (or having manufactured) a correctly configured plug.

Turns out it was a loose plug and bad crush washer. No leaks now so it’s good. Thanks for everyone’s feedback.
