Drive through windows
Knowing they do not like walk ups, & they might not see enough of bike out the window How many of us use the drive throughs at fast food & or otherwise?
Please vote in the Poll above
I have at a few places, making sure to inform them I’m on a motorcycle before I order.
Has thankfully been uneventful or complicated. Just balancing my drink till I can pull to side & secure in frunk then on my way.
Yes, parking & going inside is preferable, but not always available.... especially lately.
Trying just keep it simple. Thx

I don't hesitate unless I have multiple drinks to pick up, then I break out the car. I do kill the engine at the order speaker and pickup window. If they are having to bring it out sometimes I will ask them to place it in the frunk so i don't have to get off. Drink goes straight into cup holder.
Never had a negative comment, but have had many positive ones.

I’m a regular Tim Hortons customer. I have a wallet app on my watch and a travel mug in my Spyder2go. My local Timmy’s is used to me. Roll up to the window, Tap the watch, pour my tea into the mug, toss the cup in the bin just past the window.
When I go through a different Timmy’s on a road trip I can get some strange looks.
For anything more than tea I’ll need a passenger to hold the bag, or I order inside.

I have went thru the drive thru several times. I do not tell them I am on a motorcycle. I always turn the engine off at the order speaker. Other than that, no issues. I just never get drinks. And the food bag goes into a saddlebag.

Drive up is no problem. Most don't know what vehicle you're in or on until you get to the pay window. If they do have a camera out at the ordering station they should be tipped when they see I am wearing a motorcycle helmet.

Drive ups: don't use them on the or my two wheeler. IMO, a waste of time and effort.
If I go out to eat, I want to sit and enjoy the meal. Sitting outside in 90 degree sun just does not do it.

I have been thru the drive at Del Taco thru many times.
Never order a drink. Hang the bag of food on my handle bars and
proceed to the parking lot to repack into the frunk.
Biggest issue is messing with my credit card to make the payment.

I've used them often to grab a quick bite during my lunch hour (some of us still have that J O B thing). I just reach over and put my food in the side saddle bag while at the window. As for the drink, I always get bottled water so that's not an issue.

When Tim Hortons was only open for drive through. I did do that once. Ordered on the app. That way I did not have to get out my credit card at the window. When they started curbside service. I would order through the app. But they would bring it out to me. I liked that better. At Mcdonalds I have only ordered through the app and got curbside service. That works well there too. For a couple months there was not a lot of choice. No sit down or walk in allowed.

Do it all the time. Never had a problem or complaint. Often just order food with no drinks and throw it in the tail bag to take home. No sense in ordering a drink when there are cases of cold drinks in the fridge at home.
Sometimes have a small cooler bag in the tail bag with cold drinks and ice packs. I order only food at the drive up window and then head for one of the shady parks by the river to eat lunch.
The places trying to stay open with only selling food out the drive up window during the virus lockdowns, should be happy to get any kind of business to help them pay the rent and the light bills.

If I am by myself, I will usually have a light backpack on to put food in and have my cup holder for the drink.
Fred is a 2010 RT SM5 - Sold.
I am not a mechanic. When I have a tool in my hand, 911 needs to be on Standby.

yup, no problems. usually don't get a drink. often sit outside at the picnic tables.
i too turn off the engine at the speaker. it kind of confuses them if i didn't set the parking brake before shutting off.
at Taco Bell i use the app so i drive to the speaker, say my name and have already paid with the app. no contact.

Do it all the time, DQ is my most popular stop!
Frunk is already unlocked if I do a Mickey D stop and take it home to eat.

Drive thru is no problem for me. I stuff the food in my jacket, vest, or shirt. Put drink in the drink holder and motor off to home or a nearby park.

I only do banks, either teller window or ATM. No food windows, whether Spyder or car... I eat inside or stay home to eat.
I'll be danged if I'm gonna sit in line, wasting gas, inching forward through a line, TWICE, to get food. I get enough of that in traffic and at red lights.

Being retired, I can eat any time I want to. I usually go by the drive up windows during hours when they are not busy. I try to avoid going any time around noon or during the work drive times. If there is a long line, I keep on going. Going by the drive in window around 10:30 to 11:00 there is usually no one at all waiting to place an order. The times to avoid are just before 9:00, or from 11:00 til 13:00, or any time after 17:00. Most any other times, there is usually no line at the drive up windows.

I have only done banks. The tellers at our bank usually get a chuckle when I pull up. I have a stack of the paper work they require for transactions and I just fill it out at home and put everything in an envelope. I have had one of the female tellers ask me for a ride.
