    Default Garmin bluetooth

    greetings,

i resurrected an old Garmin 1490LMT. Actually i kind of forgot about it since buying a vehicle with GPS in the dash.
i really liked the size and ease of use while i was using it.
Anyway, just out of curiosity I took it to the Spyder to see if it would be compatible with my Tackform mount (thank you Motorcycle Dave). Works like they were made for each other. It is pretty close to the maximum it will hold, but the profile of the clamps is near identical.
So while it is charging, my question is about Bluetooth. The manual says it will connect to a phone. But, will it connect to the Spyder? What i would want is to have the voice commands come through the Spyder speakers.

    thank you

Can't say for sure about the Spyder, but Garmin "automotive" (my 2589) bluetooth won't connect to my Sena comm device. My Zumo XT connects just fine.

2019 ?? Sorry, you're SOL to have the Garmin bluetooth to the Spyder.
If you have a wired AUX input to the audio system, you can get a bluetooth dongle from Lamonster, pair your Garmin to the dongle and get the navigation instructions through the Spyder audio system.
If you do that, you surrender the ability to use the controls on your Spyder to operate the music.
Does your GPS have an MP3 player ?? If so, you can simply use the GPS as a music source.
Not the best otion but it's a work around.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.
