VSS is a very sensitive beast.
Braking firmly from 50mph for a red light triggered the VSS.
When reversing, rear wheel rode up a slight curb, about 2”, triggered it.
I’m learning to drive more gently....
In both cases power off and power on cleared the warning.
Sensitive beast.

There should be no reason to power off and power on for a VSS intervention. The light will come on for the 1 second or 2 while the VSS is active. Then go out. If that is not what is happening. Something is wrong and get it fixed.

Ok. I may be interpreting it wrongly. I’ll let it sit next time it pops up and see what happens. Thanks.

Shouldn't even need to let it sit... just ride... as said above, if it doesn't go off after a couple seconds during the normal.course of riding, it needs to get checked out....

Over the past 10 years I've triggered hundreds, of " VSS " events ( I don't think they are actual codes ) .... as said by Billy , it's usually a momentary thing, most of mine were to slight to actually cause a physical reaction to the Spyder ..... I don't advise looking at your instrument cluster for the " VSS flash ", this could cause an accident ..... good luck .... Mike

I agree, it is very sensitive. I was on a vacation approximately 600 miles from home, in mountainous terrain. I was in a downpour coming into a town, when all of a sudden my Spyder lost power, and the rear of my byke started swinging drastically. The byke straightened out, so I speeded up again when BANG, the same thing happened. I realized then that I had been hydroplaning. Long and short....IT IS very sensitive, but ONLY when needed, and thank the good Lord that it is.

Check the connector for the passenger seat detector. Maybe it's loose. If the passenger sensor is not connected the VSS light will stay lit, so I surmise if the connector is loose, or a wire is broken, then the VSS may be seeing the detector as connected, disconnected, connected, disconnected, and so on. It's conceivable to me that hard braking or quick climb up a curb could shake the wire and cause the connection to be momentarily broken.
