New F3 Limited, floor board issue

I rode my 2020 F3 Limited home yesterday, 180 miles (temps hit 113 at one point) and all was good but....

I'd like to move the floorboards back a bit. Looks easy enough on the left side but I don't see any adjustment for the brake rod on the right. UNLESS moving it forward, then maybe. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Save the flames, I did a search and found nothing pertinent.

I believe you have to buy individual brake rods for each setting. I had to on my '19 F3 LTD. Check with Lamonster...

The BRP U-Fit system that allows you to put the floor boards into different positions basically requires you to buy different length brake rods for each position...
IIRC, the 'standard' position the F3 Floorboards leave the factory with uses Position 2 (or is it 3?) of 5; so there should be (at least) ONE shorter rod & (at least) TWO longer rods available.

That said, many have modified (shortened) their brake rods to change the brake pedal position, which for many is in a really uncomfortable & not readily 'usable' position simply because it's too high; while others have done much the same thing to modify their brake rods to allow easy swapping of foot peg/board positions for different ryders. Those mods have been documented by some here, so doing a search here on something like 'brake rod' or 'brake pedal' should bring them up; or maybe you might find it easier if you use Google with the addition of spyderlovers as the location.

I think LaMonster has brake rods that are like a 1/2 size shorter for each position to allow the brake pedal to come down a little bit. The F3s come standard @ the 3 position but if you buy it new, the dealership is supposed to allow you to choose the brake rod that fits you. It seems some don't allow this or "forget" to tell the customer this is an option.

If the brake pedal is too high, try this FREE solution.....
Remove the rod and at the front end, drill a matching diameter hole behind the OEM hole. Paint to prevent rusting.

Yeah, this is why we should never arbitrarily tell someone to “do a search“. There must be a zillion threads on this (well, maybe a million) but if you don’t hit the right terminology, you won’t find anything with your search..... it does get easier after time, but........

I've been thinking of changing the brake position on my F3L from "3" to "4". My dealer also must have let that UFit stuff slip his mind as well.
Are there any special difficulties/special tools required for someone who thinks that they have "average" mechanical skills (able to do a DIY oil/oil filter change over the past weekend)???

Want to do the same to my F3T. Looks like all you need is an allen for the head of the bolt on the rod and whatever wrench that fits.

Thought about drilling a hole as mentioned above but don't think that would help much on mine.

To see if it will work or not, try this:
+ Release the brake rod from the back end.
+ Rotate brake pedal to reveal front fastener and remove.
+ Re-attach back end, but just slip the bolt in without the nut.
+ Align front of rod with brake lever where you imagine the new hole to be and see if that does the trick.
Or, remove the rod, drill that hole anyway and replace it just slipping the bolts in to try it out by getting on the bike.
Whenever you need to remove or attach the brake rod from the front, the rear has to be disconnected or you can not remove the front bolt.

Shouldn’t be an issue for you if you can do an oil change, Scorpion. It’s as simple as unbolting the bracket holding the board, unbolting the brake rod at both ends, sliding the bracket forward to slot into the number 4 position and bolting on the new, longer, brake rod. You were aware that you would need a new brake rod, weren’t you? You can test your skills by trying to move the left peg forward. You only have to unbolt and slide the bracket on that side

Sorry Jim, just saw this...... there are two bolts (can’t remember, but I think they are hex), inside bottom of your bracket. If you release those two, you can slide your boards to the next ufit hole (there’s a nipple in the bracket that slots in). The shot below is from directly above the left bracket and you can see the two bolts. You can also just see the next shortest hole for position 4 (I’m pretty tall). On the brake side you also undo the bolt on the bracket to release the brake rod. I assume you are going back to the current ufit setting after you install the highway pegs?

I moved my left floorboard yesterday from the #3 position to #2 which brings it back one hole and feels more comfortable to me.

I want my brake pedal to lay down more and am in hopes that when I move the brake floorboard back to #2, a #1 bar will work. Need to get to the dealer one day to see what I can find out.

if there are any folks here who have adjusted theirs and have the # 1 or 2 brake bars in excess, I'd be interested in buying them.

Switched from stock #5 to Lamonster #4, it's just right. The Lamonster brake linkage changes the angle of the brake pedal.
