LED 1156 bulbs in rear signals on an F3-T & Ltd (bag fixtures) No Hyperflash
Putting LED 1156 bulbs in rear signals on an F3t & Ltd (bag fixtures) without pissing off the CANBUS. The LEDs are about 50% brighter than the OEM incandescent. I used amber from Amazon. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They have built in resistors and they behave well with no hyerflash
I put those in the turn signals of my 2015 RT and I also put red LED's in the back up lights and then wired them into the brake light circuit. Nice, bright turn signals and a bigger brake light footprint.

Did you get Hyperflash when the engine was running
I fitted similar LED bulbs to my 2018 F3T and they were fine for Hazards and traffic signals with the Spyder engine off
But once the engine was running they Hyperflashed
I don’t know of a method to adjust the software as in earlier Spyders as mine has the LED Display
Rattlebars. Do you think these bulbs will work on an 18 F3L with the new dash.
I haven't a clue. I have one spyder, a 2016 F3T. My page has this warning: The information on this page is specific to my 2016 F3T. Different years and different models of the F3 will, of course, be different.
Had hyper flash before the led install....once installed I used the Lamonster video on correcting the hyper flash....works great (16 F3T)
Many thanks for the reference to that Lamonster video -- it worked on my 2017 F3L. Sweet!
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.
If yours doesn't hyper unless it's running there might be other lights that join the circuit only when it's running.
Here is another video on how to teach your pre 18 you have new stuff. Note it illustrates that your dash idiot lights flash letting you know it's ready to learn. It's harder to see in Lamont's video but you can see it there too.
I was not happy with how bright the Rear indicators were on my 2018 F3T
I tried LED bulbs but even those that claim they have built in Resistors, I found they were ok until the engine was running and they would Hyperflash
I did not want to add extra Resistors to try to correct the Hyperflash
I am unable to do the method used in pre 2018 models to correct this in the software as I have the new LED display
I found the existing bulbs fitted are only 10watts (very small)
I purchased a pair of normal standard 21watt bulbs ( these are larger)
I went with the Chrome ones as I like the appearance in the housing better
I purchased the bulbs from E bay and went with a known brand (Osram) rather than the cheaper ones
I have fitted them no issues with the larger size and these don’t Hyperflash
Very pleased with the result

Video has to be on youtube. Click the film icon and enter the video link on YT.
Yes, there is gobs of room in the rear signal housing. Dunno why they went with the tiny bulbs. Maybe the bigger ones will melt the lens but you'd have to run them for hours. You can get the bigger ones (1156) at Walmart too.
