air bubbles in engine oil

I looked for an answer and didn't find one so here is my Question. Checking the oil level- run engine till at operating temp- let idle at least 1 minute (it says 30 seconds on the tank)- turn off engine- remove dipstick notice oil is full of bubbles not foam just bubbles, wipe stick notice oil level is dropping fast in tank , quickly check level is ok , is the bubble and level dropping normal?

Which year/model & engine would help, altho generally, LOTS of bubbles in the oil is not a great sign...

This is a dry sump engine. The oil is continuously pump through the system and picks up air along the way. Normal.

I've never seen bubbles on my Spyder dipstick.

its a 2010 rt . The dealer changed the oil b4 i bought it. So I really don't know what oil they used. But it looks clean.

Normal for the 998 engine. As mentioned above. Dry sump pumps suck a lot of air with the oil. Wait for just a minute and the bubbles will be gone.

Some oils foam more than others. Generally, it isn't a big problem. The only place foam will hurt you is if it happens between 2 moving surfaces. Air does not lubricate at all and you'll get scuffing and wear.

BRP uses Castrol products. They are known to foam more then most. Just a characteristic of that product. If you use the BRP (Castrol) oil, you will need to wait longer for the foam to dissipate as it will give you a reading higher on the dip stick than it should be. If you are using another product. You may not notice any foaming at all.
