Default Glove box lid removal - is it easy to do? Any tips on how?

I need to removal the glove box lid to install a carbon fiber covering on it. Is this easy to do?

If not, my other option is removing my windshield. But was hoping the lid removal is easier. :-)

Last I remember quite a bit of tupperware has to come off to remove the two piece assembly ..... but you probably noticed the part with the arms is separate from the cover ..... I just tried mine and I couldn't get them to separate ..... find a Fiche' that shows this assembly maybe that will help ..... Mike

IMHO removing the shield would be WAAAY easier. I just went through that because I wanted to put non-reflective cloth so I could run my GoPro from the dash without seeing the reflections on my shield from that cover.

Pair of channel locks would probably work.

Default Help if you can - how can I remove the glovebox door?

Currently tearing down both 2021 F3Ls for paint during the off season.

What i can't seem to figure out is how to remove the glove box door. If anybody can help me not break it, it would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest you look at a "parts" Fiche' ..... try cheapcycleparts.com .... they should have one for your year and model .... it will show you all the parts and how they fit together.... good luck .... Mike

None that i found (cheapcycle parts) show how it is attached. Any other ideas ? I would hate to break it and have to wait months for it to show up.

Hoodrich13 did you ever get the door off? I'm trying to get mine off too and I can't seem to figure it out.

It's been a while ... but I remember taking the glove box lid off my F3 Ltd in order to route a phone cord (needed to cut a couple of strategically placed notches). As I recall, I did so by removing the windshield first as this gives you room to "fully rotate" the lid and reveal that the "side arms" press slightly in (or out, not positive). Once the side arms are free from the housing, the lid should just rotate to a small slot and lift right out. Going to go look at my maintenance manual, pretty sure that is where I found the technique.

UPDATE: Attaching screen capture from the maintenance manual .... memory is close; you do have to remove the windshield in order to get to the tabs and fully rotate the lid to remove. See attached for details.GloveBoxLidRemoval.jpg

Stay tuned ... I may be back with an update.
