Garage Door opener Spyder f3-S
Has anyone figured an alternative set up for a garage opener on an F3?
I have tried the MO-Door, but no matter what I did I could not get it to
interface with my Genie Intelli 1000 opener.
Suggestions other units?
Thanks,
Rotax

I just use double back velcro tape to attach my opener to the inside back of the glove compartment. Simple to pull out to change battery. Have to stretch just a little to reach it, but much simpler than wiring something.

On our bikes I take a similar approach to WhoDat - cheap garage door opener, some solder - but instead of a button - I use a time delay relay and wire it directly to the high beams. ;-). Flash my lights and the garage opens. With the time delay relay if I turn on my high beams it's only activating the opener for half a second to a second and then the time delay relay cuts the signal - so I'm not running down my opener battery. No extra button needed on the bike - and it's not obvious to anyone at all.

Having the same issue, very frustrating.

I took one of our garage door fobs, soldered a two-conductor wire to the button connections on the circuit board and connected that to a generic push button. I drilled the blank switch cover to the left of the handlebar and mounted the button there. The garage door opener is strapped to the frame can be accessed by removing the left inspection panel to change the battery when needed.

I have not taked pics during intallation only the pushbutton final look.
I used my 12 volts remote control by maintaning the little pusbuttion allways pressed and solding wires to the + & - battery contact.
Positive ande negative come from owner accessories on the left side.
The remote control is on the frunk left side with double adhesive tape fixed.
Mine is the Ltd model.

The green light is allways on. May be I could have activate this when pressing only but it could also have made more diffucult its location in the dark

My gate opener remote stays in the right vest pocket. Same place the Spyder key stays when it is not in the ignition.

Rotax, when I got new garage door openers with multiple - I mean multiple attemps to hook them together and quite a bit of cussing it took me 2 weeks to finally realize I needed to take a paper clip and push in that hardly noticeable hole on the back of the unit. Did I feel dumb! Also had my wife push one button while I pushed the button on the motor opener while I was on the ladder. Hope this helps

This is working great for me: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Genie-3-...3T-R/202808536
Small enough to keep on keychain or jacket pocket.

That's very disappointing. I was considering a Mo Door for the RT. Oh well................

Don't give up on the Mo Door til you are sure it can't be programmed to your garage door. This was the first mod I put on my '17 F3LTD. I love it. Like I said in previous post I just had to figure out how to program it to my new opener(a chamberlain).
But I must confess- there is no cooler feeling than hitting the button, revving the throttle and zooming into a still opening door and hoping I don't hit my head! It feels like the Batmobile going into the Bat Cave! OK - Fess UP! we are still like little kids riding our bikes growing up when we ride our Spyders! At least I am and hope that feeling never goes away! BAM-POW HAHA

Afternoon mstella101:
I decided to Velcro the remote just above my left access panel. Works!

I paid $30 bucks for it on Amazon, but it is currently unavailable. I like it on the keychain, very accessible and it goes where the keys go.

I added velcro to the back of ours and some velcro on the flat area between the handlebar and the display and just leave it there most of the time. If we stop at a restaurant, I'll put it in the trunk, but the rest of the time, it just lives where the velcro is.
