Have honestly tried persuading buds into getting their own by letting them test ride in parking lots, didn’t show them how to shift gears till after was done so they never got out of first, no real big lots usually just on empty outskirts where we would meat before a ride. Plenty for figure 8, zigzag& loop mostly straight from manual. But theses are people I know & can feasibly trust to behave with my machine plus have their own bikes & Insuranse. Would I rent to a stranger , to drive in public on these roads NO short simple, no haggling, argument or headache. Just Done. Not a matter of$$$$$$ they got enough to offer, they know could have bought a few several times over & would not be talking to me, except maybe where to RYDE.

I would gladly rent mine out. But only a very rich fool would pay what I would want to charge.

I'll probably be renting out my 08 Spyder for a while. I'll use the cash to fund some other projects.
I don't think I'd do it if I had a new one.

I was going to respond, but I'm speechless.
Either that, or what I was going to say would get me thrown off the board.
In any event. I just don't have the words........................

Some responses have indicated a willingness to let someone test ride...not the same as a rental to a stranger, nor the same as lending a spare to a trusted friend.

If you rent out your Spyder, you have to let your insurance company know and it will increase your rates. If you rent it without telling them, the renter has an accident and the insurance company finds out -- they will deny coverage. And if it's a serious accident, they WILL find out. It's a bad enough idea to loan your Spyder out to a friend, let alone rent it to someone.
Using your own vehicle for commercial use (renting or being a professional driver) changes the insurance company's risk calculation. This is why Uber and Lyft provide insurance for their drivers.

Not me either. I posted some information in the "other" thread.
If you want some interesting reading, on a similar subject, look up prisondude...a former active member. He had an interesting story to tell.
