I am looking at a beaded seat for the 2020 RTL. What size does everyone use?

I use seat beads on long rides. I rotate from the seat beads to just the seat itself. Seat beads give your back side a different feel and it's good for awhile. Swapping back and forth gets me further down the road. They also help on hot days as it lets air circulate rather than just sitting on vinyl.

They are not the end-all for me. But a nice aid for a little more comfort. Mine is just big enough to cover everywhere my body would be touching the seat.

I also use the beads when my butt starts to get sore on a long trip, or when it gets hot in the summer.
They are definitely more comfortable than they look.

I have been using an Airhawk seat pad for about 15 years. I highly recommend if you are long distance rider.

I have one. Can only use for a short time. But it does get air under you on a hot day. My buddy uses it some. He likes it better than I do.

Thanks for the input. Comfort isn't the issue. I have tried the Airhawk seat pad many times on long trips. It just doesn't work for me. I am looking at the ability to keep the backside cooler.

I have them all. Beads, sheepskin, air pads and vent pads. Beads do keep you cool in the heat. I like this best, as it vents, adds a touch of cushion and is grippy when cornering. Size M https://www.cyclegear.com/parts/speedmetal-air-seat-pad

I have made several bead seats for different motorcycles, so you can custom size it. It's quick and easy to do. You just go to WallyWorld or a chain auto parts store and buy a bead seat cover for car seats, like the Tijuana taxis. You just unweave it to the desired size and shape, and then tie off the corners where you did the unweaving. It's held in place with either cords or small bungees. On my previous 2014 RT, my wife loved it for the cooling effect. Me not so much.

The seat beads are damn near a custom fit on my Seth Laam re-done F3S seat. The Speedmetal vent pad also fits nicely.

I had a bead pad for awhile, it was the plastic beads. No cover came with mine though. Made a quick turn onto a side road and almost slid off my seat. Maybe the wooden ones are not as slick. Now use an Airhawk and it works well.

Put the wrong site in. Should be the Cycle Gear site. https://www.cyclegear.com/parts/speedmetal-air-seat-pad
I have use one of these air mesh seat from Cycle Gear with the vinyl on the under side cut out so that flows. It is great, but the vinyl has to be cut out for the air flow.

I'm NOT trying to be rude, mean or anything else but I thought they whole point of spending uber bucks on a Laam seat was so you didn't have to add anything else for comfort?

Seat beads offer ventilation that black vinyl does not in warmer temps..

I have a sheep skin that I use in cooler weather. I may try it in hot weather to see if it works.

I took my seat off and to the upholstery shop they dipped it out where my tail bone hit at and under both hipps added real dense thick foam and now it rides like a ultimate seat. Completely cured my tail bone pounding .I tookit on a 250 mile trip Im now in love with that seat.
