Valley Springs...temps in the 80's. Last couple days rain showers and looks like more today. We are getting short rides in between showers. Glad for instant radar...we can see how far away the wet stuff is.

I dunno about 'heat-wave' Deanna, I know it's not something you're really used to in that part of the World, but it sounds very much to me like you're experiencing a fairly mild 'Aussie Summer' over there!?!

So just get out & enjoy the Ryding! You are absolutely right about it not being too long before you'll be getting those sleds out again - doesn't time just fly when you're having fun!

Here in the Adelaide Hills where I live, we are well into our Winter now, with the overnight low temps (in °C) getting well down into the low single digits (if not sub-zero) & the max day-time temps only reaching the low teens at best; plus we're getting heavy fogs & cold drizzle most mornings; a few heavier rainy days; and nothing much better for the foreseeable future! The weather's really putting a dampener on my early morning rydes atm, and I must admit that I may have just skipped a couple of particularly cold &/or wet days; but then, on those few days where the early morning fog & drizzle has cleared up a little so we've seen a bit of sun, I've compensated by adding a few 'daytime rydes' too, so I'm still ryding most days! Still, there are days when I really miss those crisp clear 'snow day' mornings I used to enjoy so much! Who'da thunk it?!

Two or three days of sun and more 80's coming our way in Valley Springs. We are going to ride each day. It is currently in a dry spell, so the grass has slowed down. Going to get 10 days or so out of the last cut.

The weather people said expect some showers and a little cooler in a couple days. All in all, I think it has been a pretty good June here.

    Peter,

Over here, last month we had 4 seasons,in one month, which is very unusual.

"LIFE has gotten in the way". I am dealing with something very personal now in my life. My Spyder is my way OUT, and the winter my "Sled is my OUT. I posted a thread ( "titled I am not on this sight, In that thread I posted some reasons why I am not on this site much, and I asked for people to respect my privacy).

Our winter months start in Nov. and end in March/ April. We get snow
storms, and cold spells, and sometimes a blizzard.

Yes, time surely flies by when you are having fun.

Valley Springs, still mostly sunny, it was 90's yesterday. We did a 100 miler anyway. Also getting predictions of rain here, but still dry. Going to mow today, but there are some brown spots too.

Just got back from riding the Beartooth and Chief Joseph Highways, and really have a new appreciation for just how radically different NOAA and all the other weather forecasters' language is to mine. Apparently. "Mostly sunny, calm, and 10% chance of precipitation" actually translates to, "Overcast, heavy sideways showers, and a tornado siren". Back in Sheridan, Wyoming, we are "hot and dry" today (93 degrees F), so I'm expecting to get wet and maybe run into some hail as we ride to a local rally for a bike blessing...
