Belt tensioner
Ok I need help. I have a 2012 Can am Spyder RT Limited and I went to replace the idler wheel with the bigger one from Lamonster (LG-1065) and to my surprise there is not one on my spyder. Ok am I missing something here? I looked on the leftside and I took the Tupperware off all the way back to the saddlebags and nothing. Help!!!!!!
Thank you

Well actually it does ..... the ADJUSTERS at the rear axel, keep the tension at the level you want ..... Now if you mean ADDITIONAL idler wheel .... BRP sells them and so does LaMonster ..... His are way better ..... I don't have one because I lowered the tension to 150-160 lbs using the KritKit gauge ..... I measure mine while the rear tire is on the ground, it's so much easier and just as accurate ..... Mike

Thank you for your reply. I thought it came from BRP with one. Does it need another one added?
Thank you

At certain speeds the belt causes vibration, usually around 65 - 75 mph. It is not a bother to some folks but adding the idler roller will elimate
It. It doesn’t come from the factory with one.

Thank you. Who sells them?

Lamonsters garage. He has a website advertised on the home page. It's around 85 bucks.

I have ridden RT,s for going on 10 years, started with a 2010 998 then 2014 and presently a 2016 Special Edition triple black. I’ve run Lamonster’s idler pulley on the latest RT and it does smooth out the vibration. I recommend it. Good bang for the buck.

I have a 2012 Rt limited... I dont have one... I dont need one as mine runs smooth. If you dont have any vibration then you wont need this so dont just add it cos you think you should. I did however have a noisy belt which sounded like a transmission bearing problem. But a guy on here posted a BRP article on where to add grease on some of the rear sprocket teeth and all is quiet and good now!

Look at the description in the links, not just the pics. They sell the entire kit, exactly what you want; and not only is that detailed in the description, but they show you that if you scroll thru all the pics too.
