Default Any 2010 RT's - will your Spyder charge an iPod?

I'm hopefull that someone can answer this question. Did the 2010 RT have iPod charging capability. I have the 2010 radio set up in my bike and it is suppose to charge and play the iPods but mine doesn't. A little help from a 2010 RT owner would sure help before I start replacing parts.

If you have the correct plug it should charge your iPod. Mine is a 2012. If you still have the original owners manual look in there it should tell you.

Yes, you need the correct interface cable and the ipod will charge. Please note, the 2010 cable is different than the 2012 and up cable.

I have the iPod interface cable but it might be for the 2010. What is different with the 2012 and up? I got the

I had a Premier Editon 2010. It came with a free I-pod and cable. I never figured out how to use it and ended up selling it to a member on here.

I am guessing there was charging capacity.

Well it turns out that an 2010 RT radio, though it does work, will not charge an iPod without the cable from 2010. There was circuitry in the little box that was connected to it that I believe is required. Does anybody have one of those relics from days gone by that they do not need???

The free iPod would have been nice.
