What’s everyone seeing as far as maximum safe rpm.i can’t really find much.does the ecm
pull back power at a certain point?I'm still breaking mine in, but just curious as to the engine.my 900 rzr would spin to about 7600 but it was a twin

That is an interesting question with two Rykers with that engine and the Rally having the Rally mode and the eco mode if that makes a difference.

The ECM most likely has a rev limiter in the software.
Artillery lends dignity to what would
    otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

Recommended redline should be in the Owner's Manual. You most likely will want to shift before the redline. Usually the torque will start dropping off some before it hits redline.

Gwolf the OP is talking Ryker where the red line would be electronically controlled I would think because there is no shifting.

Still, the max RPM should be in the Owner's Manual under Specifications. Never seen a Ryker Owner's manual, but it should have the same info as other Owner's Manuals.

So I guess the key is to get some of the Ryker Owners here to tell us guessers what the story really is.

I downloaded a Ryker Owner's Manual. On page 141 of the manual it lists the Max HP RPM for a 600 ACE as 6750 and the Max HP RPM for the 900 ACE as 7750.

Drive system engagement RPM is 1800.

That came from an Owner's Manual for a 2019 model. Other years may be different. The 2019 was just the first one I came to that I could download free.

Yes I saw the HP to RPM on the BRP web site from 7100 to 8000 rpm that = HP. Now OP asked safe to run at max rpm. Is that the same?

I don't know that, but almost all modern engines have over-rev protection. I doubt if it would rev past the max RPM settings unless the OEM settings have been changed.

The Dyno-jet kit for the 900 says the rev limiter can be set for 8750 and that is 250 higher than stock. That means the stock rev-limiter must be set at 8500. Read the info on the Can-Am Ryker 900 PowerKit 3 Dynojet PV3. It gives some info on the rev-limiter.

Still, you don't want to be bouncing off the rev-limiter and 500 RPM goes by real fast when you got the throttle wide open. 7750 sounds like a reasonable max RPM for that engine. Only way to get a better answer would be to call Can Am or one of the aftermarket performance vendors for that machine.

hell I looked thru my owners manual and didn't see anything listed.i did find the videos of the 900 on a dyno and I do think it was about 7750 where it leveled off.hopefully I'll get a day off to finish my break in.

If you get to 7750 rpm with the CVT you will be going much faster than you should

Dynojet pv3 tune can raise rpm in conjunction with your mods. When I do a tune I will have the rpms set to get the best performance for the mods that they recommend. cueman

The 2019 900 max HP was rated at 7750.

    The 2020 900 is 82 HP @ 8000

    https://lam.can-am.brp.com/content/d...heet_EN_LR.pdf

Cruising 75 to 80 MPH is typically 6500 to about 7000 RPM.
It will vary with grade, headwind, etc, not directly proportionate, as would be with a geared trans.

100 MPH is about 7600, compared to my 6 speed Honda CB1100 which was about 5500.

107 MPH is 8000 and a soft rev limiter is felt, backing off to 106, 7900 RPM (I think)

Tuesday, I was running up I15 in Utah with an 80 MPH speed limit and even pulling grades, it felt like it could do it all day.

Temp gauge never moves from 5 bars. Oil consumption is not (reasonably) measurable.

tested it on mine .. 8.250 Rpms - these are 108 miles/hour (172 kms/hour) - for me I prefer to have more torque on the lower end - would not change the maximum Rpms ..
