Evoluzion air filter
I have a 2008 GS with a Evoluzion air intake. Does anyone know where I can get a new filter element or a whole new air intake.

I'm not familiar with what your intake looks like ….. It is cleanable like the K&N type ???? ….. if not I would see about getting one ….. if you could provide some pics that would be big help …. On my 08 and 11 RSS I trimmed the rubber snorkel and added a piece of 4inch alumin. dryer hose to the end .… I then connected the hose to the right side air intake …. this provide much cooler Air to the Throttle bodies ….. I can't post pictures because the filter element is completely disintegrated. Evoluzion was the first one to come out with a filter that replaced the whole air box back in early 2008 but they went out of business in 210. I got this one used from Docdru in 2009. Does anyone make a replacement air intake for a GS.

Evoluzion went out of business in 2011 (I think that was the year). In any case, it was long ago. Is this the drop in filter for the stock air box? Or is it a stand alone unit like the JT kit?

Yes, no luck. I've had my GS since it was new. I replaced the old air box with it back in April of 2008 so I would say I got my money out of it. Hard part is having to change it. I have a adjustable fuel pressure regulator on which is to tall for the stock air box.

It's a stand alone. Is JT' similar to the Kewlmetal one? The one Evoluzion one is oval foam filter that clamps over a billit aluminum duel velocity stacks.

Does it look like this? If so these are available on ebay.

It's pretty close. It might work. Do possibly have a link please.

Do a search using the following words: K&N Style ( R-0990 ) AF0990

Here's what I did. I purchased the bottom half of an air box from ebay. (See picture) You can find these reasonably priced. Cut out the part with the tubes that mounts over the throttle bodies. I shortened the air box tubes and slipped the above air filter into them. The air box tubes are slightly larger, therefore the the air filter slips into them. The fit is snug, but clamps can be added.

I "THINK" that there was a Buell or maybe it was Aprilia motorcycle that used a "souped up" version of the Rotex 998 engine...(around 140 HP) Maybe it used the same air filter that Evoluzion offered...I had their air filter, fuel pressure regulator & oxygen sensor eliminator on my 2008 GS but its long gone...larryd

I am not familiar with the Evoluzion air intake system. But it is very possible it is simply a manifold designed to mate up to an off the shelf air filter. In which case, you should be able to find a replacement air filter for it. If that is what you are looking for.

I have to say that I really like my JT filter. Highly recommend the optional sound reduction component.
