I do a lot of gravel road riding (including the biggies like Skippers Road, Rainbow Road, Danseys Pass, etc) and never had a problem with those, though I do have a Spyderpops belt guard.

The twice I've been done is on freshly laid chip and tar where the tars still hot. This unfortunately is a common one over here as we have single lane roads so you have to ride through the roadworks and there's often not an alternative route. One guy I ride with had this happen twice in a week, the second time on the day he had the new belt fitted.

Thanks for participating in the survey- summary below. It will continue on indefinitely so if you haven’t had a chance to submit your preference please do. I will not be “bumping” the post so it will drift out of the most active queue.

    Shaft vs. Belt = 90% to 10%
Increased HP vs. Current HP = 68% to 32%
Semi Auto vs. Full Auto Transmission = 63% to 37%

    You’re Welcome BRP

Just wanted to check back in here to see current numbers; and maybe get thread back on first page for those who may have missed it initially or new members who are not aware of it.

Those who say " I can't" will always be right.

Everybody has different ideas because everyone uses their Spyder differently. We only use our Spyder for cruising around town and short drives of 100 miles each way or less. For the way we use our Spyder, we would be very happy if it was electric with a range of 250 miles. Granted, BRP is unlikely to offer such an option because our use seems to be different from most. If BRP was going to stay with gas, we'd be perfectly happy with the existing engine as our Spyder easily sprints away from cars at stoplights as it is. A shaft drive would be a big improvement, however, to reduce maintenance and allow worry-free driving on gravel roads and parking lots.

Something that defies the laws of gravity and avoids traffic on the roads altogether.
