I didn't like the"road-runner" beep-beep horn on my Spyder. So I purchased a dual horn set (~$15 at geek dot com). The dual horn set I had purchased claimed to be 300 dB. But anyone familiar with sound knows that claim would be BS and, if accurate, would damage your hearing. But regardless, it is plenty loud. It probably sounds more like the horn on my 2003 Goldwing. Also note that volume is NOT the only goal. A dual horn puts out a more distinctive sound that gets more attention. I believe the horns are 410 Hz and 510 Hz and together gain more attention.
I also used a FARBIN Horn Wiring Harness Relay Kit I purchased from Amazon for about $10. It simply uses the standard horn wires to activate a relay that feeds the dual horns power through it's own fused line from the battery. This averts the potential for overloading a Spyder horn fuse. I now have adequate horn volume plus an additional audio dimension from the pair of horns.
The wiring was the easy part. Getting my hands and tools up into the horn area to remove the original horn and fit the new horn set to the bike was more difficult.
