    Tank to tank mpg is pretty much meaningless. You don't get a real read on mpg until you average out anywhere from 5 to 10 tankfuls. In the link above about my two summer mpg comparison even a 4 tank running average jumps up and down like a kid on a trampoline.

    x 2. Tank to tank is not an accurate measure of "true" mpg. The variances of the ride kick in. To much wind, uphill all the way, carrying more than the "usual" load, etc. etc.

    The average over many tanks will give a more true picture...but...it's a fun subject to talk about from time to time.
