Miles/Gallon on the 2020 RTL

My first tank got 28 mpg , 2 up freeway miles. I don’t know how I could ride one out here at less than 70. Second tank with cruise set at 73 got 32 mpg. Then next tank 29... current tank looking slightly better. Top speed so far: 95 2-up for short blast and it was straight and stable. I broke in an ‘06 Ultra with cruise at 79 and it got 42 mpg. My 2013 GW never came close to the Harley mileage wise. Sooo am hoping Mr Spyder loosens up a bit more so can get a tad more range. And no worries of capsizing a 900# vehicle!

Tank to tank mpg is pretty much meaningless. You don't get a real read on mpg until you average out anywhere from 5 to 10 tankfuls. In the link above about my two summer mpg comparison even a 4 tank running average jumps up and down like a kid on a trampoline.

x 2. Tank to tank is not an accurate measure of "true" mpg. The variances of the ride kick in. To much wind, uphill all the way, carrying more than the "usual" load, etc. etc.

The average over many tanks will give a more true picture...but...it's a fun subject to talk about from time to time.
