I found the right side connector for the gps harness, but the polarity was reversed. The left side forward connection had the polarity correct, but was tucked up behind and to the left of the battery.

I'm about to add a fuse block. I have used the FZ1 switched fuse block on 4x4 vehicles and had great success so I'll probably use it here as well.

To add pics to TIMMB's post about the connector behind the left panel on the 2020 RT. The EV1 connector is commonly used on fuel injectors, I believe. Ran out of time to check which fuse controls this and whether it can be made hot all the time. Will follow up on that.20200509_124216.jpg20200509_124311.jpg

You meant easier than the right side?
Have you verified the 2 wires are battery and ground?

Yes. Only used orange wire on ev1 and black to nearby gound. Gives 5v output to top gps pln and 0v to bottom pin. Gps will start with engine and power loss message at engine shut down. I choice this method because of one easy panel removal, medical reasons limit work abilities for a while.

I believe it's "engine running" not "key on" to get voltage.

I used the accessory circuit on the left side and it worked great. The odd looking cap came off by pressing the wire spring that held it and it pulled straight off. As others have indicated, one circuit on the EV1 is 5V DC and the other is 12V DC.

I ordered some EV1 connectors from Amazon (6 or 8 sets of male/female connected with a short pigtail), cut off the female end, and wired to the GPS red wire. As neither of those was ground, I ran it to the nearby brass screw shown in the picture.
