How to Remove Hitch
Need to remove the hitch from my F3L. Can someone talk me through it? I know the axle bolt has to come out. Will the wheel move? Or does it all stay in place? Do you put the same bolt right back in? Anything else to remove? Tom

Pull the bolt, then wiggle (I used a rubber mallet) the hitch off of the swingarm. Be very careful that the hitch does not catch on the abs sensor and/or brake line.

What you are referring to as the axel bolt is not the axel bolt. It is the hitch bolt and the only thing it does is keep the hitch on. The actual axel bolt is hollow in the center with the hitch bolt going through it. Remove it with no fear of anything else falling off. As nautibrit said, be careful to not disturb speed sensor or brake line..... Jim

The bolt used on the hitch goes through the axel so no worries about the wheel moving. As George stated you may need to persuade it to move. I use a small piece of 2x4 and a mallet to work it off making sure that the brake and sensor lines are clear.

Isn't it weird that in AMERICA our flag and our culture offend so many people......
but our benefits don't?

So the bolt is removed and goes with the hitch. Not needed to reinstall. Just want to make sure. Thanks all. Tom

Yes the bolt, nut and washers are part of the hitch. After the hitch is off then there were little plastic caps that covered the axle holes. But you may not have them now so don't worry about that.
