Default Oh No!! Everything went blank!!

I was trying to add a couple of gauges to replace the analog fuel and water temp gauges on my 2016 RTL. Pulled the water temp plug and was trying find something for accessory power. Tried to use a voltmeter tester to find something. Not sure what I touched next but the instrument cluster went dead. Can't start the bike now. I checked all the fuses, which look fine but don't know about the relays.

Is it a relay or did I fry the instrument cluster? I have power and the lights come on but nothing in the dash or control panel

    Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Billy Bovine is the Spyderlovers electrical guru. Maybe he will reply and sort this out.

You mentioned visually checking fuses. As an easy idea, using the fuse box cover map, find the fuse for the instrument panel and replace it with a known good fuse from another circuit or new if you have one.

Checked the F7 fuse again. Visual inspection still left me in doubt but replaced it anyway. Voila!!!!!!!! It starts!!!!!!

I looked at that bad fuse three different times thinking it was good each time. Looking at the two side by side I could see a slight break but only by comparison.

Thanks again for this forum's help!!!!!!!!!!

Thank the all mighty for fuses, otherwise some of us would be replacing miles and miles of burnt wire for years to come. LOL
