Not sure what a 'Truck Limited' is. But all Spyders, regardless of year or model, have the same requirements. Any blended or full synthetic, 5w-40 or 10w-40 with a JASO rating of MA2, no friction modifiers (SM Rating) and decent quality will work if you're using the 4,500 mile factory recommended service interval. If you want to go further than this. I would highly recommend using a quality, full synthetic oil.

You should get all kinds of recommendations with a question like this. That's the one thing I am MOST sure of!

Try reading your operator's guide; all the important information is there starting on pg 129.

Most likely a 2012 manual will call for a 10w-40 oil as I don't think BRP discontinued this weight until later, then going to what they carry now which is a 5w-40. But either will work fine.

Factory oil change kits with all new filters, washers, o rings and all that including the correct weight and quantity of oil are relatively inexpensive online. The previous poster used to sell oil and filters for our 998 machines, and does so now. Lest we forget Lamonster sells oil change kits as well.Oh, do you have the updated transmission filter(shorter) and the modofied panels for oil change access?

Once you work out the exact amount for the complete oil and filter change, write that down where you won't lose it. I got the amount in a file on the computer and also wrote on the side of one of the big roll around tool boxes with a Sharpie marker. Get one of the measuring cups that holds a full quart or steal one from your wife's kitchen if you dare. They are real handy for measuring the partial quarts and for measuring out fuel stabilizer and other such things in the shop, but you might not want to use it to bake a cake after it has had oil, fuel stabilizer, and nobody knows what else in it.

The exact amount needed for the oil change will vary. Not all the oil ever comes out, even with the full filter change. The number of quarts required to refill will almost never be even quarts.
