Went back to Harley’s
I wanted to say goodbye
After owning a new Spyder RT Limited for six weeks I made the decision to go back to a Harley
Purchased a 2019 TriGlide Saturday
Thanks to all those folks who helped with their advice the last two months
I really appreciated it
I have been riding Harley’s most of my life and I am very confident in the bike
Safe riding and thank you again

Going from a Harley to a Spyder and then back to a Harley is a personal choice. Your reasons are your own and to try to second guess those reasons would be inappropriate. I went from a Goldwing to a Spyder and now back to a Goldwing. I miss my Spyder and loved both bikes for different reasons. But my reasons, probably like yours, are my own. The important thing is to keep riding. Enjoy and ride safe..... Jim

Formerhd, In the journey to get to a Spyder, I wound up with both a Ultra Classic and a Gold Wing in my garage. After comparing both, I’ve been disappointed in the wind protection on the GW. My wife noticed it too as she never had complaints of wind hitting her when on HD. So if I return/replace a 2-wheeled tourer, it’s HD no question. But the Tri Glide should be a great choice! Nothing substitutes for the Harley Rumble if you love the Harley Rumble.....I will still own a Deluxe some day, but I love my Spyder, and I grew up on Snowmobiles in Alaska, but I am an odd duck....keep in the wind, and always take pride in what you ride...and keep the greasy side down....

I can understand that. I've been looking for a 97 or 98 Heritage to go with my Spyder.

I went into town this morning and on a whim swung in to the Harley dealer. Sat on a shiny, New TriGlide. Fits me nicely. I asked about their tire policy. They said they'll mount whatever tire I want. Hmmmm ......

Hell I saw custom sporty "light trike" in vegas when I went through last year, I still kind of lust after that thing, its a custom build, bored and stroked, sick sick sick machine. A friend built it up, he even "tattoed" the block, its sick....there is just something about the Potatoe, Potatoe rumble....I love all bikes however, I even owned TWO of the korean machines that hit the states a decade ago, a United Motors and a Hyosung 650, fast bikes. After replacing the charging systems, I hit 135 mph on those bikes, CARBED...........
I absolutely FELL for the spyder ride, it really felt like mounting my old Artic Cat El Tigre, and KEEPING it on the Highway for once.....lol.....
BUT, my favorite thing to do when in a new city? Find the HD Dealer and go get my chip, and stroll the new models section, you just HAVE too....lol

I am not a fan of the older Heritage, but I LOVE the new model, they did a nice job on that bike, the Deluxe always snaps my neck, I dont care what year, to me that tombstone taillight, and the chrome trimmed seat, they are epic in my world....lol

Of course they will. They only have car tires on Tri Glides to begin with.

That was probably an expensive buyers remorse deal.

(Sigh.) The point being, Harley dealers won't give you any crap about installing aftermarket tires.

If there is a HD dealer that will install an AUTO Tire on a Harley ( other than their TRIKES ) they are breaking the law and leaving themselves wide open for an expensive lawsuit …..WHY ? because Mtc. wheels are not " J " style, and anyone who uses an auto tire on a "J" type wheel are putting their lives in danger.... Yep I know it has been done - but there is no cure for dumb..... I'm a trained ( and was certified, I'm retired now ) Accident Investigator, and if I to handled a Mtc. accident and found Auto tire/s on a Two wheeler that would be prominent in my report …… Mike

The OEM rear tire on the TriGlide/Freewheeler is a 205/65R 15 . Harley-Davidson doesn't list a rear tire option on their website, only fronts..
