Default Changing Headlights to LED - nose piece removal

    Hi

I am a new 2019 F3 (base model)spyder owner, this is my first Spyder(bought couple months ago). I am loving the new ride. I installed some aftermarket fog lights today and I was going to switch out the headlights to led. I am having an issue removing the nose piece above the frunk. Per Slingmods video, I just need to remove the bolt and lift up on it and it should come off. I tried to pull the nose piece off but it would not come off. I did not force it as I do not want to break it. Should it just come off or should I remove more panels before removing the nose?20200112_195330.jpg

I access the headlight from the top. I remove the instrument cluster and the panel under. The nose is attached in the front of this panel.

Thank you! I will take a look at it and try to install that way.

There is a Torx bolt/nut holding the front nose peice on. I ran into the same thing. You have to gain access to the following screw in the picture. I do not think the 2018 had this and so the Slingmods video just showed it popping off.

I've made a tutorial on how to activating the lowbeams for the F3 (Non US and CA models).

Not what you are looking for, but the whole dismantling process to access the headlights is documented there:

In my experience with a couple add-ons, Slingmods skips/neglects to tell some steps. As far as the LED headlight bulb install, they neglect to tell you that the nose piece is held on by a nut/bolt. I inquired with them about this and they advised the install was straight forward as shown

I agree with you troop. I just installed the ARC fog lights and had to make some minor modifications, could not fit a washers for the bolts in some areas and the switch was to big for dash. Per their instructions everything should fit 2019 F3.

I noticed you have factory heated grips, did you install them yourself? If so was it a straight forward install? I got a set for a Christmas gift and that is my next project after the headlight install.

I negotiated the heated grips/install labor in my purchase. Sorry that I can't help you with that.
