Parts List Question
Stupid question.......again
This concerns my 2014 RTS SE6.
In the past when I needed to identify parts for a particular issue, I used Cheap Cycle Parts. They have diagrams for different areas of the bike which you can zoom in on and get part numbers. Very handy, at least for me.
Unfortunately, they don't have every area or part needed. For example, I needed to add a second shock to my trunk after adding a luggage rack. As usual, the forums provided the info I needed! Thank you!!!!
Question is, how do you identify parts for different applications, besides bothering you guys all the time? Now, I'm looking for the screws that hold the inner trunk cover to the outer cover.
Thanks in advance!

If you don't have any, try finding a matching screw from another location on your spyder and the take it to Ace Hardware and match it up. That's where I bought all the parts to build my own magic mirrors. They have a huge selection and inventory of metric and SAE nuts, bolts, screws and all types of fasteners.

For parts research, the actual Can Am parts catalog is best. Believe the home page here has a link to it. This should be the place, hope it helps.

Yep. I'm an Ace fan for sure. I already did that and I have a working replacement. However, being a little anal retentive, I'd like stock parts. The new screw works but it is a phillips head. No big deal, but if possible I'd like to keep all the fasteners stock.

I think this is the part you are looking for. It is part number 17 on the diagram and Can Am part # 250000720 which is a superseded number for the original number.

Gas struts (you called it a shock) are a stock, off-the-shelf item at auto supply stores. BRP does not make their own, they buy from a supplier, just like you can.
If you haven't purchased one yet, take yours into an auto supply and they'll match it. Chances are excellent the new one will be stronger and you won't need a second one.
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.

Be careful and don't get too stiff of a strut because you may over stress your hinges or your mounting points.
